Shell mold casting is a metal casting process similar to sand casting, in that molten metal is poured into a mold. However, in shell mold casting, the mold is a thin-walled shell created from applying a sand-resin mixture near  a  casting pattern. The casting pattern, a metal piece in the shape of the desired part. This ensures precision casting with higher accracy compared to simple  sand casting. There is less porosity and better output using shell casting and shell molding method which uses resin sand casting.
